Crawford and the surrounding area offer outstanding views and many summer and winter activities in nearby Black Canyon National Park, Gunnison National Forest and West Elk Wilderness.
We are located on Colorado’s famous West Elk Wilderness Scenic By-Way, Colorado 92.
Even though Crawford still has the flavor of the Ol’ West, it provides or has access to many conveniences of a larger city. Our area schools go through grade 12 and advanced education is available about 30 minutes away. Medical clinics are close by and a new hospital is 30 minutes down the road. Ambulance and firefighting services are located in the center of town. There are several churches in Crawford and the valley. Child care facilities are conveniently located in town.
Crawford has attracted a variety of artists, musicians and craftsman, who now call our area home. Their works and sounds can be seen and heard throughout the v
alley.
Our area abounds with wildlife of all types, from large to small. We are one of Colorado’s finest big game hunting areas with easy access to prime public hunting lands.
